Technical Sales Engineer
Place of work: Home-office
Area of Responsibility: Continental Europe, mostly Germany, Switzerland, Austria
Core of the Role:
* Sales of tailor-made solutions to Clients from sectors: pharma, biopharma, food & beverages
* Technical Sales Engineer will be part of the multinational sales team, reporting to the General Manager, and will be working closely together with a large team of skilled engineers, technicians and quality people from various sites
* Acquiring potential Clients/partners: engineering offices, heavy industry – end customers
* The main scope of the role will be business development in the Region, handle the customer responsibility for all existing accounts
* The ultimate strategic and tactical ownership of the customer in the sales phase, maintaining awareness of ongoing activities through the remaining part of the value chain for the customer
Competences:
* Ability to acquire knowledge of Company’s products
* Fully adapt to Company’s work culture regardless of previous experiences
* Ability to gather sales information in key regions
* Gathering market intelligence in the assign area
* Ability to grow personal relationships
Customer Outreach and Network Establishment:
* Assist in development of sales tools as necessary
* Follow sales and travel plan as prescribed by management
* Help organize, prepare and attend trade shows /exhibitions.
* Conduct sales & technical presentation to customers/ Seminar
* Conduct product training for sales agents
* Conduct courtesy and sales calls
* Conduct travels as necessary for promotion of Company’s brand and networking
* Provide market intelligence to wider Company’s team
* Participate in all aspect of sales and business development functions as needed
* Work with local agents and Company’s sales personnel in securing requests for proposals
* Work with application team for preparation and submittal of the proposal per customer specifications
* Attend technical review meetings with customers and resolve technical exceptions and clarifications
* Accommodate communication between Applications Team and customers
* Conduct commercial negotiations as part of final bid process
Requirements:
* Higher Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering disciplines are preferred)
* 2+ years of experience in sales of technical solutions for industries such as: pharma, biopharma, food & beverages
* We are open also for Candidates from engineering offices who would like to develop in sales
* Demonstrated success in a highly collaborative environment with excellent English written and oral communications skills
* Proven experience in a technical product manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of sales specifics to companies from the heavy production industry
* Action-oriented and innovative
* Project management experience and a solid technical understanding
* “Hands on” approach that can quickly develop constructive and positive working relations with peers, customers and subordinates
* Ability to achieve high-level results within a challenging customer environment
* Strong planning, organization and communication skills
* The gift of persuasion, target orientation
* Resistance to stress (a lot of projects carried out at one time, fast pace of work, frequent seminars, presentations for clients)
* Strong business culture
* Readiness for frequent business trips (50% of working time)
* Active driving license category B
