Our client is an international company, producing specialist raw material ingredients and finished dose tablets, capsules for the health food supplement and pharmaceutical industries. Due to continued development on the European market we are now looking for an experienced professional to take on the new role of:

Sales Representative Europe

Region of Responsibility: Germany, Poland, Eastern Europe

Place of work: Home-office

Purpose of job:
To achieve sales targets, focusing on the glucosamine business.


* Identify and win new glucosamine business opportunities for the EU business (leading health food supplement brands and manufacturers)
* Work with new and existing customers and the EU team to manage the ongoing and new customer requirements
* Support Company’s European office in business development activities for the supplement ingredients market
* Liaise closely with both external business partners and internally with the European office and Head Office in Asia
* Via an understanding of the EU health food supplement markets business environment, assist the EU & Asia business teams in bringing appropriate products to market to meet with the company’s growth expectations
* Responsible for adding customer value via Company’s products and exceptional service
* Customer specification development & approval, manufacturing development, lab samples & pilot batch approval, contract negotiation and completion as appropriate
* Work closely with the EU business team as needed to develop the business and deliver significant growth
* Assist in the New Product Development process for ingredients development
* Proactively monitor customer sales trends and identify and implement corrective actions as required
* Manage customer project pipeline and maintain updated at all times. Review progress with Managing Director Europe
* Provide timely reports and information as required by management, including updates to sales estimates
* Customer visits (both by plane and by car)
* Investigate customer complaints and solve routine customer problems on-site
* Inform management of any significant customer developments immediately
* Develop & maintain relevant network within the Industry on a local basis
* Discuss and get sign-off on pricing strategies and tactics with the Manager
* Build and maintain multi-level contacts across all accounts


* Min. 4 years of experience in B2B sales of products for the health food supplement market /food industry, including: flavors, spices, colors, enzymes, starches, thickeners, concentrates, finished dose tablets / capsules, raw material ingredients (glucosamine, chondroitin, ginkgo biloba, proflavines)
* Technical understanding and knowledge of sales specifics to companies from the health food supplement/food production industry
* Good knowledge of the industry and the key companies in Germany, Poland, Eastern Europe
* Higher directional education: preferable Food Technology and Human Nutrition or similar will be a decisive asset
* An understanding of the workings & needs of a small developing business
* Computer literate
* Knowledge of EU food supplement regulations/legislation desirable
* Self-driven and sales/results oriented
* Strong motivation, the gift of persuasion
* Comfortable with working independently and in a small team environment
* Srong project management skills
* Resistance to stress (a lot of projects carried out at one time, fast pace of work, frequent seminars, presentations for clients including international)
* Target orientation, readiness to act
* Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude
* Business oriented with strong professional culture
* Very goodknowledge of German and English - a necessary requirement
* Fluent Polish will be an asset
* Readiness for frequent business trips in Europe and Asia
* Active driving license category B
